Forklift Safety

There are so many forklift safety measures. In order to keep your crew and pedestrians safe; outlined below are safety measures and precautions.

  1. The legal age to operate a forklift is 18.
  2. Inspect the forklift before using. Report any type of leak that you notice. Make sure horns, lights and brakes work.
  3. Inspect the load. Making sure there are no broken pallets or damaged goods will help in a safe move or lift. Securing cumbersome loads will help ensure the safety of the goods and the forklift operator.
  4. Use an assistant. Often times having someone on foot to help maneuver the forklift can prove to be beneficial while backing up.
  5. Do not block your vision. Carrying a load that blocks your vision can be very dangerous. Keep your load out of your line of sight.
  6. Allowing people to walk underneath a raised load.
  7. Operating a forklift while on medications that can cause drowsiness or fatigue is not acceptable.
